Patten Studio x Intel
This piece documents the design, build, and eventual exhibition of Sensescape, a project designed by Patten Studio for Intel’s booth at CES in Las Vegas. To even look at the programmers working was to get a headache. Some thirty screens were turned into an aquarium-like installation, complete with pluck-able “harp strings” that caused onscreen plankton to ripple in time with the vibrations. You really have to see it to understand. Or watch the film. Three Intel technologies were showcased by the team of designers, programmers, and engineers in pushing the very limits of interaction design. The result is the wholly immersive, speculative world of Sensescape.
