Love Sick

The smell hits you first. It’s pitch black. Then you step on something soft and your mind races through the usual suspects: feces? mold? dead body?

That’s the experience of climbing through the window and into the Gowanus Batcave for the first time. But there’s something beautiful upstairs, you tell yourself, and you press on. It was only a pile of moldy clothes, anyway.

I pitched Candice Anitra on shooting her music video in the Batcave because the title alone, Love Sick, spoke directly to the feelings one has in that incredible space. To my great delight, she agreed.
